Eligibility & assessment

Available from age 12 and over, subject to pharmacist assessment. The £25 price covers both the assessment and any treatment supplied — there is nothing further to pay. Cold sore treatment works best when it is started at the first tingle, before the blister forms, so please come in as early as you can. Treatment is not suitable for everyone and is not guaranteed.

Please seek urgent medical advice rather than booking this service if you have a cold sore on or near your eye, or any eye pain or changes to your vision — this needs treating quickly to protect your sight. Also seek urgent advice if you have eczema and the sores are spreading, if you have a weakened immune system, if a baby or newborn is affected, or if the sores are not healing after about 10 days. Treatment is subject to pharmacist assessment and clinical suitability.
