Free, expert stop smoking support at our Moredon pharmacy. A trained practitioner works with you over 12 weeks, with weekly sessions, carbon monoxide testing and the stop smoking aids most likely to work for you.

What to expect
- 1A 45-minute first appointment to talk through your smoking, past quit attempts and what has got in the way before
- 2A carbon monoxide breath test, so you can see the difference as you quit
- 3An honest conversation about the options, and help choosing the one most likely to work for you
- 4A quit date you set, with support in place before you get there
- 5Weekly sessions for at least four weeks after your quit date, then ongoing support up to 12 weeks
Eligibility & assessment
This service is for people aged 12 and over who smoke tobacco and are registered with a Swindon GP (Elm Tree Surgery patients are not covered). If you work in Swindon but live elsewhere and cannot easily access support near home, you may still be eligible. You cannot be registered with another stop smoking service at the same time. Some stop smoking aids are only suitable from age 18. If you are pregnant, we will help you access the specialist Health in Pregnancy Team at Great Western Hospital, who offer enhanced support.
The consultation and support are free. Nicotine replacement therapy is supplied at the cost of one NHS prescription charge per item, or free of charge if you are exempt. Which stop smoking aid is suitable, if any, is a clinical decision made with your practitioner. This service runs at our Moredon branch only.
