Eligibility & assessment

Available from age 1 and over, subject to pharmacist assessment. Treatment is not guaranteed and depends on your symptoms, age, medical history and medicines. Babies under 1 year are referred to a GP or health visitor, as thrush in infants is managed differently.

Treatment is subject to pharmacist assessment and clinical suitability. Please seek medical advice if you have difficulty or pain when swallowing, if thrush keeps coming back, or if you feel generally unwell — these can point to an underlying condition that needs investigating. Not for emergencies: call 999, or NHS 111 for urgent advice.
