Eligibility & assessment

The consultation costs £25, and that price includes any treatment supplied — there is nothing further to pay. This service is available from age 12 and over, subject to pharmacist assessment. Younger patients are very welcome to bring a parent or guardian with them, although this is not essential. Treatment is not suitable for everyone — our pharmacist will check your medical history, other medicines and any allergies before anything is supplied, and treatment is not guaranteed. If your pain would be better investigated by your GP, we will tell you and help you take the next step.

Please speak to your GP rather than booking this service if your period pain is new or suddenly much worse, happens outside your period, comes with a fever, unusual discharge, very heavy bleeding or pain during sex, or if you are having difficulty getting pregnant. These can be signs of a condition such as endometriosis, fibroids or an infection that needs proper investigation. Treatment is subject to pharmacist assessment and clinical suitability.
